Description
There are a number of elements at work with our product in the classroom. Students are given the opportunity to
- create with their hands
- engage with effective technology
- work in teams
In doing so, they gain an increased understanding of the content at hand. Students are encouraged to slow down, process, and create – and that's where the learning happens!
iCreate is founded on the basis that students have creative ideas, and the technology already exists to unlock these ideas — it's just a matter of designing the technology in a way that is affordable and attainable for teachers and parents, which we believe we have accomplished with SAM Animation.
SAM Animation is a desktop software with roots in National Science Foundation research at Tufts University, providing an intuitive method for students to express their ideas and develop understandings across all content areas.

In our school, children use SAM to create videos on everything from seat-belt safety to historical events! The learning curve is minimal so even children in year 2 can use it almost straight away. The buttons are large and clearly marked with simple icons. The process is very straight forward: point, and click. It is great for supporting individual learning and reflection. Best of all, there is a free version! I would definitely recommend this.
