COW is free for the 2015-2016 school year.
COW is an online app that engages students with writing.
Built into COW is a bank of writing challenges that help students improve their writing fluency and develop creative thinking skills. Bonus words guide students to use more complex vocabulary throughout their writing. Students can choose to share their work on a classroom bookshelf giving them an authentic audience.
COW’s text analysis tools provide students with instant feedback on their writing and allow teachers to target instruction to specific instructional needs. Students can then use the Edit Mode to revise and refine their writing.
Teachers can also create their own custom writing challenges to fit their curriculum goals for english language arts, social studies, and STEM.
