Claroline

Claroline is an Open Source software to easily deploy a platform for learning and collaboration online. Available in many languages, Claroline can be downloaded free and installed freely.

Claroline is based on a flexible educational model that information becomes knowledge through the activities and productions of the learner in a system driven by the motivation and interaction. The wide range of tools made available to the user allows any instructor or student to establish or operate an educational device for learning. The generic tools (calendar, documents, forums, …) can use the platform in various contexts.

Claroline is a stable platform, open to all, which allows easy use of space for training and collaboration. Its operation requires no special technical skill. Easy to install, Claroline is also easy to use: just a browser to manage the different areas and registered users.

Claroline is based on a global community of users and developers. The platform is well in over 100 countries around the world.

Initiated by UCLouvain (Belgium) in 2001, the project is now led by the Claroline Consortium which brings together institutions from several countries within an international non-profit.
