It is an online resource that not only provides lessons, but also interactive activities and printables, as well as professional development resources to help improve reading and writing skills. Curated by the IRA (International Reading Association) and NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English), the database is fully searchable and every lesson plan is aligned both with IRA/NCTE Standards for the English Language Arts and also individual standards for each state.

The 3-5 minute lessons are produced by highly regarded teachers and provide conceptual and visual explanations based on grade-level (and can be used by students and adults). Lesson focuses standards and sub-standards, and are organized by teachers into playlists for students, with quizzes at the end of each lesson. Teachers can access video lessons for free. LearnZillion Premium is a paid curriculum and professional development platform for schools, districts, and states.

Teachers can view and download over 10,000 lessons organized by standard, subject, or grade level, each with a one-sentence “Big Idea” summary. Teachers also have access to implementation resources such as a Master Teachers’ commentary that covering things like leveraging technology in the classroom, or reflections on lesson plan use. An online account is needed for free, unlimited lessons and access to resources.

Students can add content from the web or directly from their computer, including clipped content, images, videos, or documents from Google Drive or Dropbox. Teachers can track student growth over time using the class and student dashboards, which track student assignments and student scores on rubrics based on assessed work. Reports can be shared as a digital report card sent to students and parents, showing not only the earned grade, but also the project, assignment, and feedback.

ClassFlow is a platform where teachers can deliver interactive, content-rich lessons with mobile-based quizzing. Teachers create lessons similar to PowerPoint that can be used teacher-directed or as individual student assignments, that can include a variety of activities (flash cards, matching, sequencing, and word games). Students access lessons in-class, as a whole group, individually, or on their own outside of class.
