I use this as an adjunct to the HMH GO Math series. This app allows me to create lessons for the Chromebook classroom, but can be used with iPads as well.

Educators need to sign up for a free Microsoft educator account to access the resource. I really like that the virtual field trips are searchable by age group, subject. There are 50+ field trips to explore.

I have used this tool with students to support a variety of subjects. For example, students taking part in the virtual field trip to Coast Rica to study sloths can learn about habitats, animal behaviors, regions, climate, and much more. On the strong side, there is an archive of field trips for classes to explore. This allows the teacher to easily customize this resource to fit individual needs. The field trips are categorized and searchable by grade level and subject. On the down side, advance scheduling and access to Skype is required. This site may not work for a teacher without access to Skype on the school’s network (the school or district IT department is blocking Skype). Overall, I give this resource a thumbs up based on its potential educational value for students.

This tool can enhance any lesson about the branches of government, the presidency, or presidential elections.

This is a very easy to use and immersive tour of Mount Vernon. Any lesson about George Washington, the American Revolution, or Colonial America could be enhanced by allowing students to browse this site.
