I have found the moderators on the discussion forums of this website to be very arbitrary and overly cautious in their willingness to allow debates and free speech. I have observed posters who were very polite and civil in expressing their opinions get banned without due cause just because they were voicing their opinions. I have seen some more eager posters get discouraged from posting by the moderators because they were supposedly “hijacking” the thread. The amount of posting on this website is fairly light to begin with and it appears the moderators want to keep posting intermittent and bland. They discourage any teachers who have well-developed or strong opinions from posting at all even if the teachers communicate in civil and polite ways. I stopped posting altogether at this website because the communications were too insipid and bland, and I didn’t learn anything or feel like I was actually talking with another human being.
