I have always tried to incorporate short video clips into my lesson planning to reinforce the concepts being taught. However, I often wish I had more question, answer and reflection time for reviewing the videos with my students. Well, eduCanon is the answer to that wish. This easy to use program allows me to embed questions right into the video. I mostly choose educational videos from Khan Academy or YouTube but any video will work. I have used this with my whole class and with individual students. Both are very effective ways to engage students and to make a video more meaningful to the learning. My next step is to use it as an informal assessment tool – especially in math class. I would recommend eduCanon to all educators who use videos in their teaching and are looking for innovative ways to show them.
