The purpose of Weebly is to create a site, blog, or store in which you can create and personalize your own webpage. Once you sign up, you determine how you want to set it up and you are then given numerous options of fonts, pictures, layouts, and more. The amount of time it takes to create depends on how detailed and in depth your site will be. You can have as many sites on one account as you need and they can all be different.
Weebly, for the most part, is a professional site. Many people use it for online stores and blogs. It can also be used for a presentation by creating many different pages for your information. The presentation aspect could be professional, or even academic. An example of it being used for academic reasons is in my Field Biology class we have made our own sites for our semester long project to show our teacher everything we have found.
The fact that the website is free makes it much more appealing. However, users still have the option to upgrade to a “Premium” account to get more templates, and get rid of the Weebly advertisement at the bottom of the page. Weebly is a very useful and easy tool to use.
I compared Weebly and Wix to set up a basic web page for my family. What I really wanted was a private web page, but you have to pay for that.
Still, I found Weebly much easier to use than Wix. I like the “drag and dropiness” of it. I was able to include my lesson plans for my kids too. Now that my web page is book marked, my kids are able to view them whenever they need to.
