Study Island is the flagship product of Archipelago Learning, a PLATO® Learning company, and leading subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider of supplemental education products. Founded in 2000, Study Island helps students in kindergarten through 12th grade master state-specific, grade-level academic standards in a fun and engaging manner. We provide standards-based instructional, practice, assessment, and productivity tools that improve the performance of educators and students via our web-based platforms.
Study Island combines rigorous content that is highly customized to specific state standards in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies with interactive features and games that engage students and reinforce and reward learning achievement. Study Island's programs enable educators to track student performance in real-time to address individual learning gaps, while allowing administrators to monitor student progress and measure teacher effectiveness.

Like that it is geared toward individual states CCSS and that students progress can be tracked
Study Island is not free, but it is an excellent site to use to reinforce skills and for test prep. The site offers opportunities to practice reading and math skills that are aligned to each state's official standards. It is currently being updated to reflect the recently adopted Common Core Standards. Students work through the practice sessions to earn blue ribbons and the privilege of playing Study Island games.
Study island is terrible, your palm trees can magically disappear, your scores can change drastically by themselves and you cannot contact them by phone and they do not email back. Study island is actually hard and long and with all the technical difficulties it only gets worse. I would not recommend for anyone.
