The company that created Hot Potatoes no longer provides technical support for this application, though it is still available as a free download.
The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is freeware, and you may use it for any purpose or project you like. It is not open-source.

Although it is outdated and I think that it is not supported any more, it still is a very easy tool, to make tests (cloze, flashcards, multiple choice and more) even if you are not computer savvy. After creating a few tests, they can be all connected so students can go from one exercise to another. The programme enables you to customize your work, adding sound video and pictures.

interattivi di autovalutazione da sottoporre agli studenti, in particolare ragazzi della scuola secondaria di II grado. I vantaggi offerti sono numerosi:
– dispone di un’ interfaccia molto amichevole ed intuitiva;
– è sufficiente compilare debitamente le varie finestre proposte dai programmi di HP per ottenere progetti di quiz intuitivi per l’utente;
– la conversione in formato HTML dei quiz creati è automatica; non sarà più necessario progettare un quiz e poi farlo tradurre in codice HTML da un esperto di questo linguaggio.
