EduLock

EduLock’s patent pending technology (ELT) creates a convergence of parental controls and education that force students to learn whenever they want to use their smart device.

NOTE: This Beta version is currently being launched in school-wide environments for K-8th grades. This particular ELT version is intended to allow parents the opportunity to bring ELT into the homes of the students so they can continue their learning.

With the motivating rewards that are literally “unlocked” by ELT, children and students will master a variety of educational building blocks in an innovative and entertaining way. ELT was developed to be responsive to the following five well-established learning practices to RAISE scores and confidence with academic exercises.

• Repetition – ELT provides an endless supply of questions
• Accuracy – ELT only recognizes accurate answers for rewards
• Independence – ELT provides little to no supervision
• Speed – ELT tracks the time spent on each question
• Evaluation – ELT offers revealing analyses

Get started with ELT’s arithmetic exercises that include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for a variety of grade levels.

With the variables controlled by the administrator, you will find that ELT’s arithmetic exercises can be appropriate for all ages.

Instructions

Initial Registration of Administrator and End User

Enter an Administrator’s Email. Administrators email will be used for periodic reporting, emergency alerts and forgotten password.

Enter and Re-enter Password for Administrators Privileges. Password will protect access to the administrator’s privileges including the skill level, time settings and emergency contacts.

Enter Information about the End User. End User profile to be used for Administrator to compare results based on age, sex and area. Also, include an email address for the end user (or another administrator password, such as spouse). Press “OK”.

Press “Submit” Button. This step sends a confirmation email to the administrator’s email.

Carefully follow the instructions for setting the default launcher. This is one important element to ensure the complete experience for the end user.

Press the OK button to acknowledge reading instructions.

Select EduLock Symbol and “Always”. This step simply enables EduLock to act as the default launcher. Failure to make the correct selection for EduLock and “always” will lead to issues in the locking features.

Press the “OK” button. This confirms that you are resetting the default app.

Selection of Primary Contacts and Level of Difficulty

Add Contacts. The first administrative step is to select the primary contacts with whom you want the end user to maintain telephone contact. This is an important feature of the EduLock technology because we always want the end user to make telephone calls to important people including emergency calls during his EduLock experience.

AT THIS TIME IF THE PHONE DOESN’T ALREADY HAVE EMERGENCY NUMBERS SUCH 911 LISTED UNDER CONTACTS PLEASE ADD THESE CONTACTS TO YOUR PHONE AFTER YOU COMPLETE ADMINISTRATOR PRIVILEGES.

Select the Skill Level. The second administrative step is to select the “skill level” widget for the arithmetic exercises.

Select the Desired Time Reward/Penalty. The third administrative step is to select the time would like for the ender user to be awarded with each correct answer (and loose for each incorrect answer). The default setting is 30 seconds for each correct answer with no deduction for an incorrect answer.

Press the back arrow on your device’s menu option and the device is ready for learning.

Press Complete. This final administrative step reveals the EduLock landing page and the device is ready for the end user to “earn their time”.
