Having worked with many schools across Europe this is the starter set of apps that seem to hit the spot. Having a small number of apps when starting your iPad journey is key for me. It gives pupils and teachers the opportunity to get familiar with a set of apps and use them across age groups and subjects.
My favourite whiteboard style app. Students and Teachers can quickly create annotated images and videos. Saving them straight to their Camera Roll or straight to online storage.
Very very easy to use animation creation tool. Make sure you get the Directors Pass for GBP £1.99 so you can add you own characters.
Great app for creating books, with sound, video, images and text, that can be opened straight in to iBooks on the iPad. Book Creator also exports books in a .ePub format so they can be viewed on any device/platform.
Another easy to use app. This time handling all your mind mapping needs. Not the most sophisticated mind mapping app but the easiest to use. Great for creating timelines, food chains, instructions, etc.
Make any face talk. At first glance it looks too much fun for using in the classroom. But look closer. How about the students bringing Henry VIII to life. Or getting planets to talk and tell us all about themselves. Great fun.
Great file handling capabilities that allows quick and easy marking of homework and other files.
