Bio

Tamara Kaldor, M.S., is the Assistant Director of the Technology in Early Childhood (TEC) Center at Erikson Institute.

Tamara is a child development specialist with over a decade of experience teaching parents, educators, and administrators how to integrate technology to support the social-emotional and learning needs of ALL children to help children play, relate and learn. Tamara has been invited to deliver workshops on technology, inclusion, disability, integrating technology into the classroom and lesson plans, and navigating the digital world responsibly throughout the U.S. and internationally. Tamara has collaborated with such organizations as U.S. Department of Education, UNICEF, UNESCO, NAEYC, Association for Children’s Museums (ACM), Association of Library Services for Children (ALSC), and Common Sense Media. In 2016, her work at the TEC Center was recognized by the White House for making outstanding contributions to STEM in early childhood.

Kids LOVE this app! Rachel calls if you have success or an accident! Kids adore the sticker chart, getting calls and the book inside the app. Parent solve that they can have all of these tools with them wherever they go.

Lazzo’s Squiggles app is great for early hand writers! Just make some squiggly marks and watch what happens you hit go. Kids love the cause and effect aspects of this app. I love using this app with a stylus for young children to introduce early handwriting concepts.

I love Timer + Touch HD! I tis my favorite visual timer to use with children. Kids love how the timer turns green in the last minute. I also love that it continues to run while you use other apps or ignore your iPad!

Choiceworks Calendar is an incredible app that allows you to make individualized calendars for children. I love the countdown features and being able to add in my own pics!
