I usually try to limit myself to free tools, but this is an incredibly useful app that is ‘worth the money’. It acts as a point-of-need glossary for most literary techniques that students will be asked to become familiar with in high school English/Language Arts. The wheel design (rather than list design, used in most glossaries) makes it enticing for students to browse. I’d recommend it to other English teachers for literature studies.

This tool uses geocaching to map contemporary Australian poems to the places that the poems are about. The overarching theme is poetry about things that are lost or are being lost. Students can submit their own poems to the map.
