Programming is an iterative process. When students get stuck with a bug, it is nice to have a 24-hour community to ask questions. Over time, students may be able to answer questions from other programmers.
Very feature-rich discussion tool. Students can add their own thoughts to a discussion thread, or contribute to a single answer (like a wiki). Teachers can moderate the discussion, as well as, award points and highlight particularly good posts.
