Puffin browser is useful for accessing flash content on websites on ipads but has security vulnerabilities which can allow students to bypass any filtering you use at school.

Very easy to use free Stop Motion Animation app. Easy to save and share. Not restricted to using Lego characters, can take your own photos of anything. Has a few filters and a selection of background music and sound effects. Can also record your own sounds and use your own music.

For a basic stop motion movie tool this is great.

Great for a flipped classroom approach, upload images, a presentation or pdf and video yourself talking about it. Or get students to use it for their presentations. Free add-on for Google Apps for Education or free ipad app as well as a free web version.

Students can share poetry or stories they have written, reading these aloud with expression. They can share and talk about artwork they have done. They can use it to explain concepts and strategies. They can present their research findings. They can use it to create ‘flipped classroom’ videos for their classmates etc. etc.

The resulting videos can shared easily on blogs, websites etc. as well as on social media.

A great tool for students to design their own inventions. The app is free and easy to use with lots of prompts to spark creativity. Could be used to design to criteria or could also act as prompts for creative writing. Inventions can be submitted to the tv show http://www.younginventors.tv/ and winners’ inventions get made on air.

Easy to use app for digital storytelling or use the avatar to introduce or explain concepts or ask questions. Many options now only available through in-app purchases or in the full version.
