As a math teacher, I used Ko’s Journey in my classroom to engage students with a story based problem. The game focuses on Ko, a girl who gets separated from her kin. The students come across various situations and have to use math to help Ko travel back to her family.
Once a week for a semester, my students would log into the game. It was by far their favorite day of the week. Ko’s Journey focuses on proportions, but many other CCSS standards are covered through out the journey. I particular liked that my students practiced adding fractions with unlike denominators!
