This is a social networking app for use to write digital letters to penpals all over the world or only in a certain area of your world. The letters are delivered slowly based on geographic distance from the user so a digital letter in your town may be delivered in two hours but a letter on a different continent may be delivered in two days. It is a good way to have pen pals and friends all over the world.

It is a good option for learning some languages you may not find on other language learning apps, such as Hebrew or Maori (NZ). It is geared to auditory learners particularly though it does provide the visuals as well. Some visual learners may need to see more textual examples though. It is a good tool overall.

Tandem is a great way to connect with native speakers. (It is not recommended for children since there is no way to monitor conversations.) For adults, this is an effective way to communicate in the target language with native speakers of a language you are learning.
