I use Google Drive for teaching at the Middle School level. Kids are on computers doing foreign language drills and all their handouts are stored on their Google drives. No copies! No lost handouts!

I also use Google Drive to enable collaboration within my classes on essay questions pertaining to research projects. For example, for my French class I had the kids research 3 different cultural items (the Eiffel Tower, the Thinker, the Mona Lisa), then asked them to write a page answering the question: are these cultural icons overrated? Please give your reasoning citing specific examples from the objects.

Kids then used Google docs to write their essays and share them with me electronically. I then posted them on the class wiki.

File sharing is the sine quae non of the collaborative classroom.
