Strengths: drills for basic math computation, and many choices of games and skills. The site is also free.
Weaknesses: this only works on android and PC as far as I can tell.

I looked at the reviews on the iTunes Store, and many people said that the app crashes.

Bingo is a familiar game to students, and when we play it as a class, they enjoy it. This may be an effective tool for practicing math fluency.

I would offer this to students, but I don’t know how many would choose it. We have other games such as Sumdog and Zondle that offer game choices, where this one only has one game.

Strengths: This website has fun and catchy rap songs to teach concepts in various disciplines, including math and English Language Arts. I used this to teach order of operations in my Learning Center. The students enjoyed the videos that I shared with them.

Weaknesses: My students didn’t make the connection between the mathematical concept in the rap and the standard they were supposed to learn. Making the connection was hard for them. I need to experiment with this more.

Strengths: The app description says that students can practice number line concepts and number comparisons. Students practice with a partner.
Weaknesses: The price for one is $1.99. It may be boring, since it doesn’t have a real world application.

Strengths: This is a free app that allows students to compare fractions visually and numerically.
Weaknesses: It looks boring.

This app allows a class to take a quiz together. Questions are right or wrong style, with visual representations.
One review said the app worked one day and didn’t work the following day. It may be worth a try.

Strengths: This app shows the steps needed to compute pre-Algebra problems. Students could use it to review computation skills.

Weaknesses: This is pre-Common Core style. It doesn’t engage students in applying the math skills to real world situations.

The iPad app costs $9.99. I wouldn’t pay that amount of money for one app unless it was exceptional, and no other app would meet the needs of a class of students.
